Welcome to Rangemhor

A warm welcome awaits for you at Rangemhor, a modern bungalow situated in Sprinholm, a small village between Dumfries and the well-know food town of Castle Douglas.

Rangemhor serves as the perfect stopover for anyone en-route to the main ferry terminals found at Stranraer or Cairnryan (approx. a 1 hour drive away.) It also provides a good base to explore the salubrious surroundings furnished with the Dumfries & Galloway countryside.

Outdoors

There are several outdoor attractions in Dumfries & Galloway that are within easy reach of Rangemhor:

  • Castle Douglas, known as the region's food town (approx. 10 min drive)
  • Walking on the Southern Upland way
  • Mountain biking and walking in the Galloway Forest Park (approx. 40 min drive)
  • Four nature reserves (all approx. 40-50 mins drive):

After a tiring day of sampling what D&G has to offer, why not relax with a drink and some delicious food from the Grapes hotel right nextdoor to Rangemhor, or explore the other selection of excellent restaurants in the area.

Rangemhor comprises two bedrooms, each with tea facilities and wall-mounted, flat-screen TVs:

Guests are also very welcome to relax in the spacious lounge or dining room, or enjoy some fresh air in the large colourful garden.

A typical Scottish breakfast is available, or if you prefer, you can arrange with Linda for any alternatives, including vegetarian options. Early breakfasts are also no problem, for those who want to get up and go.
